Frequently asked questions

Everything you might be wondering before we begin. A space that holds complexity, without judgement, to sit with your questions and reconnect with desire.

Therapy and my approach

What do you work with besides migration?

I support emotional, relational, creative and migratory processes: grief, anxiety, sadness, violence, identity, sexual diversity, or that hard-to-name exhaustion. Migration is my specialty, but the space holds the complexity of your whole life, without judgement.

Who do you work with?

I support young people and adults who speak Spanish, anywhere in the world: migrants, travellers and digital nomads, many in transit or newly arrived somewhere new. If you're looking for a space that holds your complexity without judging you, it's for you.

How do I know if I need therapy?

You don't have to be completely unwell to begin. If something feels heavy, if your discomfort doesn't fit the usual diagnoses, if you're carrying unfinished things or you want to reconnect with your desire and think about your next step, this space is for you. We talk it over with no commitment in a Clarity Session.

What approach and perspective do you work from?

From narrative practices, with training in social and community psychology and a feminist, rights-based perspective. I understand many forms of distress as healthy responses to a system that makes us ill: we don't only seek to repair, but to hold what needs space to live a more livable, desiring life.

Migration and life on the move

What is migrant grief?

Migrant grief is the set of losses —and reorganisations— we go through when we leave a place, even when the departure was chosen. You miss the language, the bonds, the landscapes, a version of yourself. It's not a failure of yours: it's a healthy response to an enormous change. In therapy we give space to that grief that often no one around us manages to name.

Is therapy for migrants different from "ordinary" therapy?

Yes, in its focus and its lens. I work specifically with what it means to live on the move —distance, belonging, languages, starting over, keeping bonds alive from afar— from my own migrant experience and a critical perspective, without pathologising what is often a healthy response to a difficult context.

Can you see me if I live in another country or time zone?

Yes. I work exclusively online and we coordinate the day and time according to your time zone. Wherever you are, we can meet.

What if I'm travelling or have no fixed address?

We can keep the process going anyway. Continuity doesn't depend on a fixed place: we adapt to your pace and your movements.

What languages do you work in?

Spanish, Italian and English. If the language where you live is a barrier to starting, we can meet in yours.

The sessions

What is a Clarity Session?

It's a free 30-minute online, non-therapeutic meeting. You tell me what brings you and I share my approach; together we see whether we can work together. There's no obligation to continue.

Online therapy? Is it the same as in-person therapy?

It has different strengths and limits from an in-person space, but it's just as valid and effective for most processes. With people on the move, online is precisely what makes continuity possible. We talk it over in the Clarity Session.

How often do we meet?

We decide together. My suggestion is to start weekly; after the Clarity Session you receive an email with the info to schedule the first sessions.

How does payment work?

Preferably by bank transfer to a European account or via PayPal. I offer sliding-scale fees according to your situation, and we talk it over transparently.

What platforms do you use for sessions?

We meet on Google Meet. If there's a technical problem, we move to another platform.

I'm ready. How do I start?

You fill in a short form on the site and I get in touch promptly to arrange a Clarity Session. All the information you share is confidential.
